Event Details

Research Australia is very committed to connecting Health Economists with scientists and policy makers. Given more than 10% of GDP is now spent on healthcare, Australia must make smarter investments in health and medical research.

The 2018 Health Economics Roundtable is a unique opportunity to hear how health economics is shaping Australian health and medical research and influencing health policy design.

Discussions at this year’s Health Economics Roundtable will include a briefing on a new opportunity for health economists to contribute to the design of the Medical Research Future Fund, an update from the Commonwealth Treasury, an exciting case study of how clinician researchers are using health economics to further their research and the latest economic modelling for the My Health Record system. A full agenda will be circulated to all registered attendees closer to the date.

This forum is being kindly hosted by the Macquarie University Centre for the Health Economy and will be chaired by
Annette Schmiede, Director of Research Australia and
Executive Leader of Bupa Health Foundation.
