Official Rules & Regulations 2018
GENERAL
- Fishing times - Saturday 3rd November 5am – Sunday 12pm.
- The competitor’s entry in the competition is deemed to signify acceptance of all conditions and rules of this competition.
- Registrations will be accepted on Friday 2nd November at the Woodside Recreation Reserve from 5pm – 8pm
- Entries/registrations can be accepted until 9am on Saturday 3rd November
- Early Bird entries must be received by October 6th 2018 with payment drawn Friday 2nd November at the Woodside Recreation Reserve at 8.00pm
- You can register online or download the entry form from our Facebook page or website (linked from the fb page) and post or email back. Payment can be made via cheque or direct deposit or online through our ticket system – linked from our Facebook page.
- All entrants will receive a registration pack on the the Friday night at the Woodside Rec Reserve that will include an official competitor identification key tag.
- Sections: Adult (16+), Junior (6-15 years), Tiddler (2-5 years). Please note - all Junior and Tiddler entrants must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian.
- Entry fees: Adult $50pp, Junior $25pp, Tiddler $15pp.
- The Woodside Recreation Reserve is the only official weigh in station. It will be opened from 8am each day.
- Free kids entertainment, food /BBQ available as well as live music Sunday from midday.
- Teas/meals available Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd at the Reserve from 6pm.Bar and raffles.
- No refunds will be given after October 30th. You must have made prior contact and arranged with officials if requiring a refund.
- PRESENTATION OF AWARDS – from 2pm Sunday 4th November.
- COMPETITION OFFICIALS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO WARN OR DISQUALIFY ANY COMPETITOR DEEMED TO BE CREATING A NUISANCE or NON COMPLIANT WITH RULES & REGULATIONS. Any competitor with a grievance should direct it to an official
PRIZES & CATEGORIES
- All entrants must be present to a claim prize. In the absence of a winner, the next in line will be chosen. In the case of a raffle, a redraw will be done.
- All prizes are non-transferable and non-refundable.
- MAJOR PRIZE – ‘CATCH OF THE COMP’ - $2000 cash.
- ‘BIGGEST BAG’– 1st - fishing kayak (single). 2nd TBA Based on point system over the 2 days
- ‘BIGGEST FLATHEAD BAG’ 1st single dome swag and 2nd prize TBA. Based on point system over the 2 days
- Biggest Salmon. 1st and 2nd prize
- Biggest Flathead. 1st and 2nd prize
- Biggest Whiting. 1st and 2nd prize
- Biggest Snapper. 1st and 2nd prize
- AOV (no stingrays or banjos) 1st and 2nd prize
- Junior – Mystery Length 1 (25-35cm). Mystery Length 2 (30-40cm). Any variety – no stingrays. Biggest Bag.
- Tiddler – Mystery Length 1 (20-30cm). Mystery Length 2 (30-40cm). Any variety – no stingrays. Biggest Bag.
- Early Bird Entry – drawn November 2nd.
- Other secret lengths given out Saturday night and Sunday.
FISHING REGULATIONS
- ALL REGISTERED ENTRANTS MUST ‘CHECK IN’ before commencing the competition. This can be done at the Woodside Recreation Reserve on Saturday morning from 8am OR Friday night at the Woodside Recreation Reserve from 5pm. NO FISH WILL BE COUNTED TOWARDS PRIZES UNLESS CHECK IN HAS BEEN PROCESSED. If a registered entrant has not checked in by 2pm on Day 1 of competition, it will be assumed they are no longer entering the competition. No refunds will be given unless prior arrangements have been made.
- The Fishing Competition is open to rod, reel and line.
- The competition is based on length. Where an accumulated prize is available it will be based on a points system – eg 60cm = 60 points.
- All entrants must have a current recreational Fishing license and abide by the rules set out in the Victorian Recreational Fishing Guide including bag limits and species legal size.
- Competition open to all types of fishing – surf, off shore, bank.
- Boundaries – between Seaspray and Port Welshpool. This includes any open water that connects one or more of the designated areas.
- No restrictions on bait or lures. No explosives.
- Limit 2 rods per person, 2 hooks per rod.
- Limit of 6 fish per person, per day
- All entrants must have in their possession their official WDFNC Wildcats Fishing Comp key tag and use this at weigh in station for easy identification.
- If fishing from a boat, all legal regulations and requirements (including boat license, safety beacon, flares and life vests) must be complied with: visit www.transportsafety.vic.gov.au to view the Victorian Recreational Boating Safety Handbook for further information.
- Weigh in Station - Woodside Recreation Reserve between 8am – 6.00pm on Saturday or from 8am on Sunday to have results recorded.
- Entrants may upsize their results if a larger fish is caught throughout the day.
- Entrants are able to do a "CATCH, CLICK AND RELEASE" that identifies time, date, length and angler ID.

- NO FISH ARE TO BE KEPT IN LIVE WELLS.
- Any one fish/catch is eligible for one prize only.
- Fish must be presented to weigh in station so results can be recorded and tallied by (6.00pm Saturday 2nd or 1.00pm on Sunday 3rd at the Woodside Recreation Reserve. Any fish received after these times will not be recorded.
- If two (or more) eligible fish are of the same length, the fish recorded earliest, as per records at the weigh in station, will be eligible for the prize, or higher ranked prize.
- Fish eligible for a prize MUST BE LANDED by the individual entrant on their own fishing rod.
- Please observe signs at local boat ramps and camping areas.
- The organisers, or any person acting as an official at any time may: Inspect registered competitors, rods, reels, bait and fishing lines, instruct any competitor to conform to any or all the rules described herein, Direct that competitors surrender their rods.
- If an angler is disqualified for breeching of the rules, the entrance fee will not be refunded.
- Organisers and officials have the final say and their decision is final.

It is clearly understood that the entry is accepted on the condition that any person or persons participating in the contest do so at their own sole risk and any such person shall NOT claim against the Woodside & District Football Netball Club or Woodside Recreation Reserve Committee of Management or any official or servant or other persons appointed by or acting on behalf of the said organisers or in connection with the contest for any injuries or loss suffered by himself or herself or any other person to by any act omission or negligence on the part of the committee or any other sponsors or official servants as aforesaid.
